Oh my goshhhhhhhhhh welcome to my podcast!!! I'm so excited that you're here and I am honoured that you choose to place ME in your AirPods every week!!!
Here's a bit about me:
My name is Sandra. I'm a business coach for women, a feng shui practitioner and a 2x national leadership award winner. In saying all of that though, I feel like I'm just a girl from Saskatchewan, who is put on this earth to inspire you to step into your power ... right fuckin' now.
I think that all too often, we convince ourselves that there is nothing we can do ... that our life "is what it is" and that ONE DAY we might be able to have the life that we dreamed of.
Uhmmmm NO.
That's bullshit.
In a split second, you can choose differently. In THIS moment, you can take that courageous step toward the life you desire. It's my job, my gift and my obsession to help you share your sparkle with the world and I'm excited to get started.
You're listening to what the fuck is you just doing? You're hosting this. I'm all about living at best life and finding our zone employees, and then we're moving away distance so that we can go all in. It's a random craziness. Which is one of all the and only hate long, drawn out intros. So let's fucking go.
One of the things that I notice that is really, really common with women that I work with, whether that is in a 12-month container with me or six months, one-hour call, or whether it's just like a 15-minute free coffee chat with me. Also, P.S. If you want any of these, they're in the show notes. Just under my website, you'll go to um one-on-one private coaching. I think it's is the title. And all of those options will be there. Anyway, one of the things that I really notice is that the women come to me and they're kind of pissed off. They have a goal that they've set for themselves. They really want to achieve. And sometimes it's sort of even like a like a goal of I just want to feel relaxed. I just want to lose the inflammation. I just want to feel proud of myself. I want to increase, I want to improve my relationships. Or I want to hit 10K months. I want to hit 20K months. I want to open a business. They decide to take action, they go all in and then they go all out. Or they half-ass it the entire time and then they look back at the end of their year, you know, set a goal for January 1st. And by December 31st, they look back and they look and think, oh, if I had just committed to that, like if I had just done the thing every single day, where would I be right now? And so on a random Wednesday at 10.23 in the morning, I was having coffee.
I hadn't really started my day yet. I had slept in that day until nine. And so I got up, had coffee, and just kind of puttered around. And something just, I just started thinking about the goals that I had set for myself in two different areas of my life, my business and my health. I hadn't journaled yet, but I had my journal and my pen in my lab. And I thought, hmm, I wonder if I just pushed myself a little bit more. What could I achieve? Like I'm already doing mindset, energy, and action toward one goal. Maybe let's see if I choose mindset, energy, and action for two goals. What does that look like? What would the structure look like throughout my day? I opened up my journal and I just jotted down seven things, seven action steps that I could do every single day that would get me closer to those two goals. And here's why I'm telling you the story. I think a lot of people think that we need to hit rock bottom before we change. We hit a fuck it moment or that moment where staying where we are is so uncomfortable. And it's more uncomfortable to stay where we are than the discomfort of taking action. It's like when we start to override the bitch in the backseat, we start to not listen to all of the bullshit excuses that we had, and we just decide, okay, today is the day. I literally, it was so anticlimactic, I'm almost shocked, but I just went, huh, Wednesday, 1023. Yeah, okay, let's fucking go. Like, and I wrote these seven things down, seven action steps that I'm taking every single day toward my goal. And I just decided I was starting that moment. That's it. I just decided I'm doing it. Did I feel ready? No, not really. But I just decided, just like it was like this anticlimactic meh, let's just do this, okay? All right. My intuition does feel very like meh, this is fact, just deal with it. There's no emotion to it, there's no logic to it. It's like logic and emotion are like oil and water when you compare them to your intuition. And I just listened to the intuitive nudges instead of to the bitch in the backseat. I wrote out the tasks that I was going to do and I just decided to do them. Doesn't need to be a rock bottom moment, doesn't need to be a diagnosis, doesn't need to be like you're gonna renege on your mortgage. It could just be, hmm, let's just write down, let's just play what are my goals and what would help me get closer to my goals every single day.
What actions do I need to take? Once I wrote them down, I had written down seven things that I was gonna do every day. So one was follow this particular diet every single day, which includes weighing my food out. One was drinking a hundred and it was three Stanleys of water every single day. One was exercise twice a day. And while I'm um doing that, I am listening to a meditation. The fourth one is that I'm taking a business course. And so I decided that I was gonna do course content every single day. I was gonna journal every single day, but specifically I'm journaling on how I feel towards those two goals. Like, how did I feel yesterday? What did I learn from yesterday? I always end with what's working because what is working allows me to focus forward on it is working, right? Like it's brainwashing me to believe myself that it is working. It's brainwashing me also, I'm brainwashing myself to look for other things that are evidence that it's working. You can brainwash yourself in any way. Why the fuck would you brainwash yourself to believe that life is hard, everything is against you, you're never gonna fucking hit your goals and you're a complete fucking failure. Why would you convince yourself? Why would you brainwash yourself in that way when your brain will accept whatever you program it, whatever you tell it, it's going to believe. So choose your thoughts wisely, right? Now, all seven of the things that I've chosen. Oh, did I say the other ones? Oh, I didn't. Okay. So the sixth one is I'm going to take all of my supplements. And I suck at taking supplements. I have a naturopathic doctor and she prescribes me supplements, and I'm like, oh, I suck at taking them consistently. So one of the things is that I have to take my supplements three times a day. And then the seventh and final one is I have to sell on social media. That's it, sell. Because this is a business goal, right? Like, and here's the thing: I think that there's so many people who feel like selling is icky. But if you have a business, you have to so like get over yourself. And also, like if someone doesn't want to hear me sell, then they don't have to fucking follow me, right? And that goes for you too. Like if it feels really icky to sell shit, like then we've got some work to do. Because if you're an entrepreneur, you sell stuff, and we can do it in a way that feels not so gross to you. Anyway, okay. All of the items, all seven of those items had to move me toward my two goals. And that's kind of the filter on them. Not would this be good for me? Because you know what? It would be good for me to make my bed every single morning. But A, I do that every morning, so it's not a challenge. And B, it's not directly related to my goals. It's indirectly related. Making my bed is going to make me feel better, it's going to make me feel accomplished, like all of those things, but it's not directly related to my goals, like the rest of them are. So it has to be the filter isn't, is this would this be good for me? The filter is, does this move the fucking needle? That's it. Now, once you've decided you're non-negotiables, then if you want to do something else, go for it. It's a bonus. And I feel like once you start doing those non-negotiables, the bonuses show up. I've been taking Marley on a big, huge long walk every single day. And do I have that as my non-negotiable? No. Would it be great? And I could add the walk in as a non-negotiable, but I know that I'm not going to be able to, like, I'm not going to take Marley out for a walk in the rain. If it's pouring rain, we're not going, you know, especially for 5K. So the non-negotiables that I have are things that I know they're going to stretch me a little bit, they're going to push me a little bit, but they're not going to be things that there might be a circumstance that I can't come through on.
The other thing that I did, when I was writing these seven things out, I thought, you know, these are sneakily similar, not all of them, but sneakily similar to 75 hard. You push yourself for 75 days, and what you gain is so much more. Like I have seen women start the 75-day challenge or 75 hard challenge, and they want to lose weight, but while the process of losing weight, they increase their confidence, not because of the weight loss, even, but because they are doing the fucking thing that they said they were going to do. It's a commitment to themselves. That's the real bonuses here. And so when I looked at the challenge, I went, uh, you know, this is kind of similar to 75 Heart. So I'm just going to do it for 75 days. One of the things on 75 Heart is that you can share on social media that you've done day 37, day 38, like every single day, you sort of say that you're committed to the challenge and you've done day one, day two. And it's social proof. I didn't feel like I needed social proof. I didn't feel like the social proof would be something that would really be value added for me, for me personally. But what is value added for me? Having something in my space that reminds me I'm doing this fucking challenge,
right? Because, and that's the feng shui aspect. Our subconscious mind is controlling 95% of our actions. So why wouldn't we put something in our space that is going to speak to our subconscious mind? So here's what I did. I grabbed a hot pink sticky notes. And I just on the day one, I just grabbed a sharpie, sharpie marker, put a big, huge one on the sticky note, and put the sticky note on my fridge. Now I put it there on the fridge. There's nothing else on the front of my fridge. Zero. If you have shit all over your fridge, it is speaking to your brain and saying, I am overwhelmed. And then you wonder why you make shitty decisions when you open up the fridge. Get everything, all the magnets, all the stuff. I don't care. Take all the magnets off of the front of your fridge and tell me you don't feel better because you will. Anyway, so there's nothing on the front of my stainless steel fridge except for this one hot pink sticky note. I'm telling you, every time I am anywhere near the kitchen, and I am constantly being reminded, keep on your goal, Sandra. Once I complete the day, I feel so good about this. Once I complete that day, I take the sticky note off of the fridge and I put it inside my journal. There is something so powerful about this process because it's almost like you're stacking receipts up. I'm putting that sticky note in my journal as evidence of success every single day. It's like winning the day. And the more receipts that stack up, the better I feel. And the more it's telling me I can I am committed to my goals and I am trustworthy. I am going to do the thing that I said that I'm going to do. That triggers to the universe. She's fucking serious. Let's help her out. This is how we co-create. We don't co-create with the universe by saying this is what I want. And then you go and sit down, have a bandwidth and watch watch outer banks on Netflix while the universe does all the heavy lifting. Like you got to meet it halfway. And magical things are already happening. So why am I telling you this story? I mean, first off, because I'm going to be probably sharing a lot more about how the rest of my 75 days are going, or now I have 70 left, but I'm going to be sharing like things that I've learned about myself, things that I have accomplished throughout the 75 days, just the way that I see things. I see patterns in things that no one sees. So I feel like there's just going to be so many moments of awareness and inspiration and intuition and so much growth in these 75 days. And I'm excited to share it with you.
I also wanted you to know that to see the greatest amount of progress, we have to find a process, like a strategy for you that you feel good in. I don't want you to follow anyone else's goal. The reason that I'm not doing 75 Hard, one of the things, one of the things in 75 Hard is that you have to read 10 pages of personal development. Okay, I don't read. I mean, I can read. I just don't like to read. In a 75 hard, you have to read it. You can't listen to an audiobook. Guess what? I'm dyslexic. I like audiobooks better. So why would I do something that would frustrate the piss out of me? That makes no sense. I think we stretch ourselves, but not create a scenario where the only option is to fail. And then we think it's something about us. It's the plan. And that is always the way it is. It is always the plan. We can come up with, because this is what I do the best, coming up with a strategy that feels so good to you, so easy for you. It stretches you, but you know it is in your zone of genius. And when we find that, that's when your business flies. That's when you reach your goals. That's when everything comes together. That's why. Because I can see your genius before you even recognize it's there. And we create a plan that feels so good. It just feels like your favorite pair of flip-flops. Like it just fits you to a T. Stretchy, yes. But all you also yes. And that's when it works.
Thank you so much for listening. I hope you've had some laughs, maybe some ideas, and that you've been inspired to take some type of output toward the life you always don't know. If you feel so called, I would love it if you would go with your leave a review down below.
