SPEAKER_00:

I'm all about learning our best slides and finding our zone of phone and then removing the right system so that we can go off the phone. I say random crazy, which is what I call this buttons like. And I'm really hate long, drawn out intros. So let's fucking go. Welcome back to day 23 of my advent calendar. And today I want to talk about tuning up your kitchen chi so that you're not stress snacking. I don't know about you, but I can get absolutely overwhelmed with stuff, with things all over my kitchen, with food all over my kitchen, and just with things going in my mind. And that ends up looking like me grabbing something from the pantry, grabbing date squares off of the table. And that ends up me eating things that make me feel like garbage, to be honest. Like too much salt. My fingers are like sausages. When I wake up in the morning, I hate it. Um, not enough water, and too much sugar. So believe it or not, there are some things that we can do to make sure that we can balance the fire energy of our kitchen so that we're not so overwhelmed and we don't end up looking like a raccoon going through the trash. In feng shui, the kitchen represents fire. It's the fire energy. And fire governs digestion, motivation, passion, appetite, emotional processing. And when fire is balanced, you feel nourished, you feel satisfied, you feel motivated. And when fire's too high, you're gonna feel restless and wired but exhausted, snacky, but never really satisfied and emotionally hungry. I mean, I think about when I'm really overwhelmed, I can eat chips and dip, which PS is my absolute fucking favorite, but I can eat chips and dip and think, okay, that was really tasty, but that didn't satisfy me. I must need sugar, so then I'll eat sugar. Nope, that's not it. I mean, I'm not going for the water, let me tell you. I probably should. But it's seriously like I'm a freaking raccoon just looking through for anything I can shove in my mouth. So December and the holidays, it's like it just freaking adds gas to the fire. There's more cooking, there's more decisions, more sugar, more pressure. And so what happens is because we have more fire energy to us, our body looks for grounding. And food is unfortunately the fastest way we do that. It's like when fire is excessive, our nervous system is searching for calm. And so we do these sort of self-soothing things like chewing and crunching and grazing. Your body's just trying to regulate. But we don't need to eat to create calm in our nervous system. So our goal is to cool and ground that fire so that our body doesn't feel like it's almost like in a panic emergency state. So here's how we're gonna do that clear the fire energy or the heat visually. Too much red, too much clutter, too much mess, or too much visual chaos keeps the fire high in your kitchen. I know that I just get so distracted on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, Christmas Day. I always have a ton of food on my counters, on my kitchen island, on my table, on every surface that I have, I think. And it does feel massively chaotic to me because of all that energy and because of everything is sort of speaking to my subconscious mind. I am grazing. It feels like I never actually eat, but I'm always eating, if that makes sense. I'm like not sitting down to eat a great meal, but I'm like always eating. So you don't have to really do too terribly much, but you just clear off the stove top, clear off my personal favorite, the kitchen island. If my kitchen island is clear, I feel like a fucking rock star no matter what is going on around me. If you have visual calmness, your nervous system is calm. Okay, so number two is you want to balance fire with earth energy. Earth grounds fire. So you want to add something that would be earthen, ceramics, neutral tones. Maybe you can grab some crystals. I love crystal energy, so adding some crystals to my space feels just really naturally grounded. I love smoky quartz for this. I have a really nice smoky quartz that I'll probably bring out and put into my kitchen area. But things that sort of add that stabilizing energy is really good. Number three is clear the stove off before bed. A clean stove tells your subconscious mind I'm done for the day, I'm supported. And it helps shut down that sort of late night grazing energy. Number four, as much as you can eat seated. You know, I just said that I'm like, I'm standing and I'm just grazing all day. So I'm not really eating, but I'm grazing all day. And so standing is a fire energy, but sitting is a grounding energy. Even once a day, if you can sit down to eat, slowly chew your food, really experience the food, taste the flavors, it's amazing how grounding that is to your nervous system. So if you've been snacking your way through December or you're noticing your nervous system is a little jacked right now, and you're kind of panic eating, ground that fire energy, calm your nervous system, and be more intentional and how you experience the holidays because it's meant to be fun. Let your kitchen support you instead of overstimulate you. And I'll see you back here for the 24th. Thank you so much for listening. I hope you've had some laughs, maybe some ideas, and that you've been inspired to take some type of action towards the life you've always dreamed up. If you feel so called, I would love it if you would go with your code or leave a review down below. I'll point you on 44.
