SPEAKER_00:

I'm so glad that you're here. You're listening to What the Fuck Did She just say? With your host. That's me, Stephanie Footstein. I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in. I say random crazy, which is why I called this podcast the way that I did it. And I really hate long, drawn-out intros. So let's fucking go. Welcome back to the podcast. Today is day 17. And this episode has been inspired by a conversation that I had with a friend of mine a few days ago. She was saying how overwhelmed she feels and just absolutely exhausted. She said it's like she has so much left to do before Christmas, and she just doesn't see how it's physically possible at all for her to be able to complete it. And so I have a few tips actually that I have found so useful for myself and also for my clients. So I'm going to share them with you here today on the podcast. But first, I want to send a big, huge hello to a new listener from Kansas City, Missouri. I think it is so cool that I am sitting up here in Alberta, Canada and just speaking my little heart out. And at 5 a.m. Someone in Kansas City, Missouri is going to be able to hear my voice. It's wild, right? I mean, I'm also the person that can barely believe that the the earth is round, and like it freaks me the fuck out to think that there are planets suspended in the air, and that the end of the galaxy there is more galaxies, and like there's no end. Calculus PS also freaks me out. Like, how can a line almost approach a line but never really ever approach the line? I believe in feng shui, but the earth is round, I don't know. Anyway, I think it is so cool that I have listeners all over the world. And so I wanted to say a quick hello to Kansas City. I hope you have an amazing day. And I hope you like the podcast. Here we go. Let's talk about tackling your to-do lists. When we have everything in our head, like all of the things that we need to do, all of the tasks that we have that are undone, when they're running around in the back of our mind, they're bigger and they're always on our mind because we're trying to not forget them. And so it feels like it's overwhelming. Get it out of your head and write it down. I like to write down all of the things that I need to get done for the week or maybe prior to Christmas. Okay. So I write them all down. But then I go back and I reread my list and I think with a different filter on it. I think, what do I have the energetic capacity to do today? What can I complete today? I look through that list and I put a star beside the ones that I have the energetic capacity to do. Then I look at the ones that I've starred and I think, what can I do in the next five minutes? If we don't prioritize them for what can I do today? What do I feel like doing today? What can I complete today? If we don't prioritize them like that, we look at the 20 and we're constantly filtering these 20 things. We're constantly feeling overwhelmed. And it feels to our subconscious mind that we have 20 things to do in the next 20 minutes. And we don't. When I look at what do I have energetic capacity to do, what happens is we trick our brain, there's a different vibe to it. It allows me to step into my power, to be in control of my list instead of it controlling me. And when there is something on the list that you can start or you can tackle right away in the first five minutes or the next five minutes, you have a sense of completion, we sort of get a kick off of completing things. So as soon as we can cross one of those things off our list, we feel better. And that becomes almost a drive to do one more thing. So that's the first sort of set of tips. But the next set of tips is this sometimes I will wake up in the middle of the night and think about something that I forgot to do or that I need to do the next day. Placing a pad of paper and a pen on your nightstand so that in the middle of the night, 2:30 in the morning, you can just quickly write a few words down so that you won't forget them in the morning, will allow you to go right back to sleep right after. If you don't have a paper and a pen, or if you don't write it down, you will struggle to go back to sleep, or your sleep will be interrupted because you're constantly trying to remember that thing that you need to remember in the morning. A lot of times we work ourselves up in our minds to think there's no possible way we're ever going to get this done. And we always do. And in fact, it takes a lot less time than we think that it will. And less stressed is always the vibe. See you back here for day 18 tomorrow. Thank you so much for listening. I hope you've had some laughs, maybe some ideas, and that you've been inspired to take some type of action toward the life you've always dreamed up. If you feel so called, I would love it if you would share with your best needs. Leave a review down below. I look forward to bringing you along with it, and I will see you in the next episode.
