WTF did she just say?
Oh my goshhhhhhhhhh welcome to my podcast!!! I'm so excited that you're here and I am honoured that you choose to place ME in your AirPods every week!!!
Here's a bit about me:
My name is Sandra. I'm a business coach for women, a feng shui practitioner and a 2x national leadership award winner. In saying all of that though, I feel like I'm just a girl from Saskatchewan, who is put on this earth to inspire you to step into your power ... right fuckin' now.
I think that all too often, we convince ourselves that there is nothing we can do ... that our life "is what it is" and that ONE DAY we might be able to have the life that we dreamed of.
Uhmmmm NO.
That's bullshit.
Sorry ... but it's true. In a split second, you can choose differently. In THIS moment, you can take that courageous step toward the life you desire. It's my job, my gift and my obsession to help you share your sparkle with the world and I'm excited to get started.
You got this. Let's go.
Sandra

I'm so glad that you're here. You're listening to what the fuck did you just say? With your host, that's me, Stephanie. I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in. I say random crazy, which is why I called this podcast the way that I did it. And I really hate long, drawn-out intros. So let's fucking go. Hey, welcome back to my advent calendar. Yesterday I talked quickly. Oh, I shouldn't really tell you what yesterday was, because if you didn't listen, you got to go back and open the door. But we're continuing on because today I want to talk a little bit more about guest experience. There's a few things that you can really do that elevates that guest experience. It doesn't take a lot of money and it doesn't take a lot of time. And it really helps your guests feel cared for. So, meaning when you open the front door, there's no shoes around where they're sort of tiptoeing around and they don't really know where to go. I think that is one of the things that always makes me feel uncomfortable when I'm sort of standing at the entrance wondering, where do I put my coat? Where do I put, where do I put my shoes? What do I do? Where do I go? Oh my God. Especially if I don't know the people. One of the things to help people feel like they know what to do is to either A, take their coat as soon as they walk through the door, or B, just have like open coat hooks where they can hang their coats and let them know that, you know, they can hang their coats on the on the hooks, or have some empty coat hangers that are hanging in the closet and space for their shoes. I think I've said this before, maybe last year on the podcast, but my grandparents used to entertain a lot and there would be tons of people in their house, like 30, 40 people in their small house. And everyone sort of just naturally knew that when they walked in the door, they took their shoes off and then they carried their coats into the kitchen or straight into my grandma's bedroom, which was off the kitchen. And everyone would put their coat on her bed. It's just where they knew where to put their coats. And I always kind of loved it, actually. I love that everyone knew what to do. And it just seemed, I don't know, it seems so nostalgic when I think about it. But the fact that they knew where to put their coats and just allows people to feel immediately at home. Like immediately they know what to do and where to go. The next thing is to try to offer them something to eat or something to drink as soon as they walk in the door. Um, we we know already that we're gonna have a make sure that there's a place that they feel comfortable sitting and it's set up for them. If people like to sit at the kitchen island, try to clear that kitchen island off so that they know they feel comfortable instead of sort of cramped with stuff, and then offer a drink or something to eat if you can. One of the things I think that I tend to do is I tend to overdo the food and I have too many options, or you know, I think I have to create a charcuterie board in the shape of a fucking reindeer, which is just ridiculous. Because if I know anything from watching any of the shows, like I love watching Food Network, you don't actually have to have 48 different options, they'll have a few, two, three, four different options for maybe 10 people. And when I have one more person over than the four of us, for some reason I think I have to have 19 different options to eat, which is just not true. Do a few different options that you really, really love and let that be it. Because here's the thing it's so much better. People enjoy the space so much more, not because of the food, but because you are there and you feel good too. They are there to experience your company, not to sit while you slave away and you try to make the perfect snacks or the perfect meals, and your back is turned to them while they're eating your perfect food. I promise you're probably overdoing it with options. Third, have a nice clean bathroom for them, but then also have something that just makes it a little bit special. So, like a maybe a lit candle or possibly little battery-powered twinkle lights in the bathroom. Um, maybe it's just a nice Christmas hand towel or Christmas soap, something like that that just sort of is a little bit of a special element for your guests. And finally, if they are staying with you, one of the things that I love to do, and I I just actually have it all year round, I have a basket in my guest room. It has things like extra toothbrushes, little tubes of toothpaste, a little thing of Tylenol, um, makeup wipes, micellar water, dental floss. The other thing that I have in my guest bathroom is I have a towel rack. I have towels already set out for any of my guests. I don't have to think about it. And so anytime a guest come over, they just know exactly where to go for those things. Making their visit be as sort of user-friendly or intuitive as possible, I think, is a really good way to make people feel at home. So they don't have to feel uncomfortable and wondering where to put their stuff or having to ask, can I use a towel, or do you have any extra soap? Those types of things aren't big deals. But if you can circumvent them having to ask, it makes them feel relaxed and it makes you feel relaxed. And the vibe and the energy will matter more than anything else. Thank you so much for listening. I hope you've had some laughs, maybe some ideas, and that you've been inspired to take some type of action toward the life you've always dreamed up. If you feel so called, I would love it if you would share with your best needs. Leave a review down below. I look forward to bringing you along with 200, and I will see you in the next episode.
