SPEAKER_00:

I'm so glad that you're here. You're listening to What the Fuck Did She just say? With your host. That's me, Stephen Footstead. I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in. I say random crazy, which is why I called this podcast the way that I did. And I really hate long, drawn-out intros. So let's fucking go. Hey there, welcome back to the podcast. Today is day 11, and I really want to talk to you a little bit more about your front entrance. I know that on this podcast I've talked about this before. I think I might have even talked about this earlier on in this podcast advent calendar. But one of the things that I think is really important is that we always, always, always have a welcome mat outside of our door. And I like to have a welcome mat outside of our door. And then I also like to have a mat on the inside of our entrance. Welcome mats. If you think about them, welcome mats are called welcome mats because it welcomes people into our homes, but feng shui-wise, it also welcomes good qi or good energy into our homes. It also welcomes in opportunities from the universe. Also, having a mat that actually says welcome and not something sarcastic. Now I am super sarcastic. I really appreciate a good sarcastic joke. I really, really like those welcome mats that say, go the fuck away, or I don't know, please hide the parcels from my husband. Like I really appreciate those. I think they're super cheeky. I think they're sassy. I think they're really fun. They're just not good, feng shui. Here's the thing our conscious mind is what's laughing at that, right? Our conscious mind is what finds them funny. And it might even be our vibe, our our the way that we are in the world, which I love. I love authenticity. I love that. And I could totally see me having one of those welcome mats. I really wish I could, but our subconscious mind is what cannot filter out sarcasm. And so when our subconscious mind is working 95 to 97% of the time, it is taking in this message of go away. The universe also takes in the message of I don't need any more opportunities, stay away. It almost like gives this boundary to say, I don't want anything, any opportunities, anyone to come near me. So realistically, a welcome mat that says welcome or the priestlies is probably the best. Number two is, and I've talked about this already too, is making sure that you turn on the outside light, make sure that it's working, and that you turn it on every once in a while. That just sort of is like a beacon or like a bad signal to the universe that says, okay, I'm open for business, like I am open for opportunities. Now, the other thing is you want to make sure that your house numbers are very visible, or if you live out in the country, that there's some sort of sign that is visible that says either your name or your land location or whatever. Something that sort of stands proud and says this is where we live. And I always say this too: like if the pizza delivery guy can't find where you live, neither can the universe deliver you with opportunities. So we want to make sure that it's very easy to see your home and your address. The other thing that you want to do is make sure that the door can open easily. So physically, the the hinges, they're not creaky, they're not sticky. And also with the door knob or the door handle, you want to make sure that that is easy to open as well. If not, either replace or fix them. Get some WD40 on the door hinges and just make sure that it feels easy and gentle and nice to open those doors. Lastly, this is a great time of year to put a wreath on your door. A nice, beautiful, fresh wreath is always preferable, but it adds such a welcoming touch and it's really good feng shui, especially if it's fresh. If you don't have the opportunity to buy a fresh wreath, or if you have a wreath that you really like that you've stored, put that up too. I mean, I am not opposed to fake wreaths by any stretch of the imagination. That is what I've had for the majority of my time, is a fake wreath. I think I've had fresh wreaths twice so far, and that's it. But you want to make sure that that wreath looks nice and fluffy and fresh. I was looking at my wreath this year and thought, what the fuck am I doing? Like it is sad. I liked it at one time, but it has had its day in the sun. You know what I mean? It's got these beautiful berries on it that are cracked, that are peeling. I think I'm missing a lot of the foliage. I don't know what I was thinking, but I put it up and went, holy hot hell, this is not good. It is time for a new wreath. If you don't want to pay for a new wreath, or you still really like this one, go and just add a little bit of fluff in, add a bow to it, or add some more foliage, or add some more, take off the broken berries and put some better berries in. But you want to make sure that it is welcoming and interesting and it looks good, not like the sad shit that I just put up this year that I have to replace. I think the thing here is that everything really matters. And when we can do these things with intention, when we know why we do the things that we do and how they benefit us, it just adds this different respect for your space. Your space is always speaking with you, and you are in an energetic exchange with your home and with your surroundings. And so we want the energy of your space, we want it to support you and you to support your space. This is like a relationship, okay? And you want to treat your home with respect, and it will treat you with respect back. A home is not four walls where you keep your shit. You know what I mean? It is an energetic exchange, an energetic relationship that you are in. And when you can treat it intentionally with care and love, it and the universe will reward you back. All right. We'll see you here for day 12. Thank you so much for listening. I hope you've had some laughs, maybe some ideas, and that you've been inspired to take some type of action toward the life you've always dreamed of. If you feel so called, I would love it if you would share with your best days. Leave a review down below. I look forward to reviewing it, and I will see you in the next episode.
