SPEAKER_00:

You are listening to what the fuck does that just say? What the fuck, your host and the hostile. I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in. I say random craziness, which is what I call this podcast the way that I said. And I really hate long, drawn-out intros. So let's fucking go. Welcome back to another episode of What the Fuck Did She Just Say, and specifically day two of my podcast advent calendar. You want to know one of the things that I really, really love about this podcast idea or the advent calendar idea on my podcast is that I don't have to think about uh a title on each episode that actually is clickbait like. Like I don't have to think of something that would make you want to open it. I can just say it's day two. And like an advent calendar, it's like open up the door and see what amazing shit is inside. I love it so much. So here's day two. We are going to talk about the front door. And I think I've probably talked about this before, but the front door is the mouth of chi. When we're talking about the front door and we're talking about the mouth of chi, we're talking about where all of the good stuff enters into your home. It's also the place where shoes enter our home and coats enter our home and purses and all of the things, the accessories and the stuff that we just drop. And it's the place where people accidentally block all of the support from the universe and like stop the opportunities from coming in. Now, here's the other thing that I want to say. I don't want you to listen to this podcast and go, oh my god, take a look at my front door. No wonder no opportunities are coming in. No wonder I feel stuck and stagnant. No wonder every, you know, my three-year-old just drops his shoes and his coat and comes in and I can't keep this clean. I suck. No, I don't want you to judge yourself. I don't want you to sit and feel like crap when you listen to this podcast. What I want you to do is just realize what each area or what your home can signify to yourself. And then maybe move just a little bit. Just try to do something just a little tiny bit in your home to make it feel better, to bring in good chi, to bring in more opportunities, and to help support you and the people that live in your home. This is what feng shui is about. It doesn't have to be so superstitious and shitty, it can literally be, and this is the way I teach it anyway, that it can be a very beautiful exchange of energy between the space that you live in and yourself. That's it. Your home sends messages to your subconscious mind, your home provides energy to you and you back to it. We want to have a beautiful exchange. And that doesn't mean always living in the perfect home that is always clean. You don't need to hire someone 24-7 to pick up after you and your kids and your dog and everything else. It's just an awareness of our space affecting us. And maybe we can make a few different adjustments that can help support us along the way. One of the things that I did before I get on this topic of day two, but one of the things that I did, I noticed that every single time I came home and when the kids were little, I would open the front door and it would like jam onto a tiny little shoe. And so what I did was I um at the front entrance where our doors or like where our closet was, I put some shelves that were specific for our shoes. I put four different um shelves. Each shelf was for each person. And I put a little name tag on each of the shelves. And so when I did that, the kids I think felt ownership of that one shelf. And I'm telling you, they put their shoes away more often than not. It was fabulous. And it didn't take long, but it was a concerted effort on my part to do something that felt like it was theirs and really encourage them to put their shoes back. And it can literally be that tiny little movement, that tiny little shift that can help your entrance feel open and welcoming. Okay. Today we're just going to give your front door a tiny tune-up and sort of a holiday makeover. Okay. So step one is we want to clear this zone. We want to take a few minutes, move anything that's blocking the door, whether it's boots, deliveries that are sitting there, hockey bags, recycling, whatever it happens to be. The goal isn't perfect here. Again, it's just breathing room. You want to be able to go to this space. Remember yesterday I was talking about the deep breath of fresh air you have when you clear off a surface. Well, think of it in that terms as well, in your front entrance. It's just like, ah, this feels so good. Like that's kind of the goal, the breathing room. Number two is you want to wipe down the front door inside and then also outside if it's not minus 40. I mean, at this point in time, you're probably not going to wipe down the outside of the door. Um, if you're living in Canada, but maybe in Vancouver or interior of BC. But if you're living in, let's say, Florida or the southern states or somewhere where it's warm, wipe down the inside and the outside of the door. This is like removing old residual chi and saying, okay, fresh start. Thanks. Let's fucking go. Now, step three is turning on the lights. If you have a porch light, I'd encourage you to use that. Make sure you turn it on all the time. I happen to turn on my porch light when it gets dark. I leave it on all night long. I know I'm probably wasting energy and annoying people, but I love to have it turned on. I feel it's a little bit safer for any of the vehicles that could be outside. And it's also bringing good chi into our home at night. Like it's it's sort of like a beacon for the universe to go, okay, here we are, bring us all the good stuff. The other thing is holiday lights count too. So if you have Christmas decorations, Christmas lights up, we have some geese, some Christmas geese in our front yard. And like anytime you have something that sort of just attracts people to your home, I think it's a good thing. You might have those solar lights in the front. That's great too. It really is like a beacon and chi or good energy travels toward brightness. So it's just a beautiful way to think of attracting good energy and good luck to your space. Remember that light is like a welcomeness, and dark sort of feels like don't bother. I often say it's like the pizza delivery dude, right? Like you want to turn your light on, have the um have your house numbers on the outside of your house that are well lit, that people can see. So that the the guy knows where to deliver your pizza to. If it's the Amazon dude, he needs to know where to deliver your Amazon packages to. And the universe is the same. So you want the universe to be able to find you. Now, step four is to add something that feels inviting. A wreath, maybe even a Christmas doormat, PS doormats. You always need a doormat, like have a landing space, a welcoming doormat. You want to welcome in the opportunities. And I I really, really love those sarcastic ones like go away. I find that funny, but we don't want to physically tell the universe to go away or tell opportunities to go away. And we don't want that in our mind either. My husband used to have um, he was given a gift and it was a stepping stone, and it said, I'd rather be fishing. And while that is a cute little statement, and he probably would rather be fishing, it's not really the best um message for you when you're coming home. Because you should want to feel like you're coming home too. So if you're going to purchase a doormat it for Christmas particularly, have it be welcoming. Have it be something like, you know, Merry Christmas or all Grinches are welcome or something like that that just feels good. Also, a lantern is really cool. Um, I have two urns, and I have these like um sort of round, fake wreath ball y things on top of them. I just feel like they're almost like beacons that say, welcome, good energy, and they kind of stabilize my home. I love that. But think in terms of like how can I decorate the outside of my house to just say something that says good energy, come here. Now there's a deeper layer to this too. A blocked front door is a sign that you don't need any support. So if you're struggling to receive help or support or even compliments, your front door will usually show it. Isn't that crazy? So clearing that space is a physical version of saying, I'm open to things being easier, I'm open to help, I'm open to support finding me. I am open to opportunities and support from the universe. It's a small, tiny change, but it in it really does change. It's like it changes your internal posture. Thank you so much for listening. I hope you've had some laughs, maybe some ideas, and that you've been inspired to take some type of output in towards the life you've always wanted to.
