"The Bachelorette Method" for Getting Unstuck

Sandra Priestley Season 2 Episode 147

I watched a random chick on TikTok who spoke about another random chick on Instagram ... and even though I have no idea who either of them are ... they inspired this method.

So thanks ladies!  I would credit you, if I knew who you were.  If you listen to this podcast send me a text and let me know who you are!!

Speaker 1:

Well, this is the second day that I have recorded this podcast. I don't have an intro, I don't have an outro, I don't have music and I'm not entirely sure I'm in love with it. I might have to spend some time trying to find the perfect music and I hate that process so much. Honestly, if you've been listening to the podcast for any length of time, you will know that I spent like months looking for my last podcast music and I couldn't find the perfect one ever. And so I finally asked my husband for advice and he said Crazy Train would be perfect for me for advice. And he said Crazy Train would be perfect for me. Now I do like the intro to Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne, but I just feel like that's not really the vibe. You know currently. Know that because I'm a Libra. Things like podcast music or what should we have for supper or what should we have for supper I'm not a big fan of those decisions. I can weigh them out for days. So for right now, we're just going with it Messy, no music.

Speaker 1:

Now I have been watching the Bachelorette, the Bachelor, bachelor in Paradise, all of those ones for years now. Like how many years has the Bachelor been on 30? I don't even know. It's been a lot of seasons and I've watched almost all of them. And you know, there's the moment where you're watching with your girlfriends or you're talking about it later and you're watching this show and it gets to the point where, let's say, it's the Bachelorette. And it gets to the point where the Bachelorette is believing in the douchebag. She's going to pick the complete jackass, the one that everyone hates, the one that we all hate, the loser that causes all the drama and then pretends he's so perfect to her. And we start screaming at her and we start screaming at the TV. No, you can't pick him. You know that, vibe right. Pick him. You know that, vibe right. So now I heard this on Instagram or TikTok or somewhere on social media.

Speaker 1:

This woman suggested that you imagine there is a group of people watching you on TV. It's a movie of your life. They start to scream at you, just like everyone screams on the Bachelor and the Bachelorette. They start to scream for you to do something or for you to not do something. They can see so clearly what your way forward is. They've been watching this movie for a while, so they know exactly who you are. They know everything about you, they know what your goals are, they know what's troubling you and they also can see so damn clearly what you need to do to get unstuck or to reach that next level.

Speaker 1:

As you're imagining this picture of all of these women, all of these besties, sitting having wine, having cheese, having water, I don't know, they're yelling, they're screaming at the TV because they know what you need to do, I want you to ask yourself what is it that they are screaming and what do you need to change? We all have an idea of what we need to do, but we're so damn close to our own problems and we're so tied to our limiting beliefs that we don't want to listen. But we know. I mean, let's face it, if you are sitting watching your friend struggle, in some way you know exactly what she needs to do and you're wondering why in the fuck she's not doing it already. It's so easy to see what someone else should do because you are not tied to your friend's fears. But here's the thing you don't need to be tied to yours either.

Speaker 1:

I love this concept so much, and when I heard it at first, it took me two seconds to imagine a room full of chicks sitting around on the couch screaming at my TV, and I knew exactly what I needed to do. I knew my next step and I knew where I was sitting in resistance. And I could hear them saying get up. What the fuck are you doing? Just move. We all know, but we're just too tied to our own damn story. If you can visualize someone outside of yourself viewing in this omnipotent role, what are they saying, then go do more of that, and this is where the outro music would go. I hope you have an amazing day and I look forward to seeing your town or city pop up in the back end of this podcast. I love seeing where you are all from. I've been noticing that you have been listening. To see you tomorrow.
