I'm so glad that you're here. You are listening to what the fuck did she just say with your host? That's me, sandra Priestly. I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in. I say random, crazy shit, which is why I called this podcast the way that I did, and I really hate long drawn out intros. So let's fucking go.
Speaker 2:Imagine that you have two energies. You can only choose one. One is about doubting yourself, second guessing every move, playing small. The other, trusting yourself, taking up space and knowing you're capable. You can't straddle this fucking fence. You have to choose one. Which would you choose? And fence, you have to choose one. Which would you choose? And I really want you to think about that, because one is a lot easier the one where you doubt yourself, second guess, overthink, overanalyze, choose to procrastinate. Choose to make sure that everything else is perfect. Procrastinate. Choose to make sure that everything else is perfect.
Speaker 2:That one it takes a long time, it takes you away from your goals, or it takes a long time to get to your goals, but it's the easy one. The difficult one is trusting yourself, showing up in the world, focusing, being confident, doing the thing that you know you need to do, taking up space, showing up in the world, being your bold, authentic self. It's funny because that one is the one that takes the most amount of effort and it's the most effortless. It is effortless to be your bold, authentic self. It is effortless to just be in your own brilliance. But wow, we talk ourselves out of it, right? So now here's the thing. The first one where you doubt yourself, that one is insecurity. The second one is badass, and you cannot be insecure and badass at the same time, so you got to choose one. If you keep letting insecurity win, you're never going to step in your full potential. So the goal has to be to push yourself, to push yourself, to talk yourself into badass. Choosing badass You've got to be the one who talks herself into something instead of being the girl who talks herself out of it.
Speaker 2:How many times when? I'll give you an example. This morning I got up and I was going to go to the walking track, because you know, I'm on day three, I'm in a rhythm now, and so I just went, didn't even think about it. I just got up, found a time that worked and I went. I usually try to go to the gym early before my brain wakes up, but the first day and all of the days up until that time, guess what was happening? I was talking myself out of it. I spent more time talking to myself out of going for a walk, going to the gym, than I ever did talking myself into it.
Speaker 2:I think we hold ourselves back and we wait for having enough confidence to start. But confidence isn't a feeling. It is a choice. A lot of women wait to feel confident before they actually do the dang thing, but confidence is built by doing it, by showing up, by taking action, by proving to yourself that you can handle it the women in the work. We're showing up every single fucking day. What already happened after the first 30 days is we were starting to gain confidence in ourselves, starting to gain belief in ourselves, starting to gain belief in ourselves and starting to really notice that the more we took action, the more brilliance was showing up, the more opportunities were showing up and we were becoming way more confident as a result.
Speaker 2:If you keep telling yourself you're not enough, you're not ready, you're not as good as Sally Sue next door, that's exactly what's going to happen. If you are choosing insecure, that's what's going to show up in the world. But we're going to start acting like the badass version of yourself and watch how everything changes. The next time you start feeling insecure, ask yourself what would the most confident, successful version of me do in this moment, when you feel insecure and you're choosing badass? Can you ask yourself, will you force yourself? Will you choose to ask yourself what would the badass version of me do. What would the badass version of me walk into this room like? What would the badass energy feel like? And then go and do that, even if it feels strange. And then go and do that Even if it feels strange, even if you're scared. That's how you make the shift.
Speaker 2:And small changes, just one thing every single day, tiny little changes, make a huge difference in the long run. And if you start with one thing today, you start with walking in the room, shoulders back, practicing walking into the room, shoulders back, practicing walking into the room, shoulders back, head up, chest out, walking in like a badass, dressing like a badass, making choices, like a badass speaking with authority. The more you embody that confidence, the more you act. In that way. Badass results. There is way less room for insecurity to run the show when badass energy shows up. First you get to decide who runs your life. You can't be both insecure and badass and, let's face it, you and I both know which one you're meant to step into. You and I both know which one you're meant to be. One you're meant to step into you and.
