WTF did she just say?
Oh my goshhhhhhhhhh welcome to my podcast!!! I'm so excited that you're here and I am honoured that you choose to place ME in your AirPods every week!!!
Here's a bit about me:
My name is Sandra. I'm a business coach for women, a feng shui practitioner and a 2x national leadership award winner. In saying all of that though, I feel like I'm just a girl from Saskatchewan, who is put on this earth to inspire you to step into your power ... right fuckin' now.
I think that all too often, we convince ourselves that there is nothing we can do ... that our life "is what it is" and that ONE DAY we might be able to have the life that we dreamed of.
Uhmmmm NO.
That's bullshit.
Sorry ... but it's true. In a split second, you can choose differently. In THIS moment, you can take that courageous step toward the life you desire. It's my job, my gift and my obsession to help you share your sparkle with the world and I'm excited to get started.
You got this. Let's go.
Sandra

Rewiring our default: thoughts from the walking track
What does it truly mean to work hard? It's easy to think that the ones putting in the most physical effort are working the hardest, but what if that's not the case? I share my journey on an indoor walking track where I observed people of all ages and abilities overcoming their own unique challenges.
It's not just about physical exertion; it's about battling the mental barriers that tell us we can't.

I'm so glad that you're here. You are listening to what the fuck did she just say with your host? That's me. Sandra Priestly, I'm all about living our best life, and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in. I say random, crazy shit, which is why I called this podcast the way that I did, and I really hate long drawn out intros. So let's fucking go.
Speaker 2:My goal every day is to go for some do some type of exercise, but preferably to go for a long walk, but it was. I think it was minus 37, with the wind chill today, and that just doesn't seem like fun to me. So what I decided to do was just go to the indoor walking track, and if you know me, you'll know that I like to find meaning or some sort of awareness in everything that I do, in everything that I watch, in everything that I am really. And so, as I was walking, I walked for an hour and a half, and throughout that period of time I noticed the people that I was sharing space with. There was some older people that were there One woman she looked to be maybe in her late 80s, early 90s, and so she was on the inside of the track and walking fairly slow.
Speaker 2:There was another woman who was she and her partner were running. Like the entire time I was there, they were running, and at a very fast pace actually. So an hour and a half they just kept running. I was so inspired by them. There was a few kids walking in their socks. There was a woman that I know from the community who has multiple sclerosis and she was walking with a brace on her leg. And then there were some other people who were speed walking and they were all ages and all sizes and I started to think who is the person that's working the hardest? Is it the person? Is it the couple who were running for the entire hour and a half? For the entire hour and a half? Was it them? Were they working the hardest? Was it the woman in her late eighties, early nineties, that was walking slow along the inside of the track? Was she working the hardest? What about the woman with the MS? What about the kids who were walking in their socks? We can assume all day long that the person that's working the hardest or the people that were working the hardest were the ones that were running for an hour and a half, but to do that would be to dismiss all of the human element. The person that's working the hardest in that room is the person that overcame the most challenges the most physical challenges, the most mental challenges came the most challenges, the most physical challenges, the most mental challenges. They're the ones that maybe even social challenges.
Speaker 2:The person working hardest on that track is the one that overcame all of the excuses the people who were running. They might not have any excuses. They go because they go every single day. It's easy, they love it. I mean I can't imagine, because they go every single day. It's easy, they love it. I mean I can't imagine, but it's easy for them. They have conversation while they're running and it feels like bliss. They might be expending the most energy, but they might not be working the hardest.
Speaker 2:I was listening to a Khloe Kardashian podcast today and she was interviewing Mel Robbins, and Mel said our brains are hardwired for easy to resist what feels hard. Basic wiring sets you up to never change. So maybe the person who's working the fucking hardest on that track is actually the person who talked themselves out of easy. The 90 year old woman. She might have had all of the conversation going on in her mind, that mind fuckery of I don't want to go, I shouldn't go, I can't go, it's too cold, I don't want to travel, I don't want to get there, I don't want to. She might have struggled so much. So with that mindset of I just don't want to go today, and she went anyway. Those kids they went despite the fact that their friends are sitting eating poutine waiting for their next hockey game. But they went and they walked anyway.
Speaker 2:The woman with the MS she might've said I don't know if I can do it today, I don't want to push myself today, I'm feeling a little tired or I'm a little worried about my leg, but she went anyway. She didn't listen to her excuses and she pushed through the desire to do what was easy in order to choose the hard that will affect change. I want you to choose the hard. I want you to know that you can absolutely overcome every single excuse you've got, and that is the only thing that is stopping you from achieving everything you desire. It's your choice to choose easy, to choose the default of staying small, but it is equally your choice to override it. You can choose hard and when you choose hard, over and over and over and over again, all of a sudden you've rewired and your hard is now the easy.
Speaker 1:Thank you so much for listening. I hope you've had some laughs, maybe some ideas, and that you've been inspired to take some type of action toward the life you've always dreamed of. If you feel so called, I would love it if you would share with your besties and leave a review down below. I look forward to bringing you along this journey and I will see you in the next episode.
