WTF did she just say?

Why Your Morning and Night Thoughts Matter More Than You Know

Sandra Priestley Season 2 Episode 131
Speaker 1:

I'm so glad that you're here. You are listening to what the fuck did she just say with your host? That's me, sandra Priestly. I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in. I say random, crazy shit, which is why I called this podcast the way that I did, and I really hate long drawn out intros. So let's fucking go.

Speaker 1:

This month in my membership, called the powerhouse, I'm dedicating it. Well, because it's February, right, I'm dedicating this month to self-love. I've really been embracing affirmations every day and reprogramming my subconscious mind to believe the things that I want it to believe. And so yesterday, when I did my live video because I go live on Mondays, I do card pulls on Mondays, I do an intuitive card reading on Mondays because I love Mondays and I think that most people hate Mondays and have this negative connotation to Monday. So of course, we need to have something to look forward to, something to really flip our brains. To be positive, we do a feng shui training on the very first Monday of the month. So I'm going to give you a little bit of a peek into a few of the things that I talked about, but I'm going to talk to about them on feng shui Friday, okay, so come back here in a few days and listen to that training. But what I do want to talk to you about is affirmations and how we shit on ourselves way too often. I have been doing affirmations every single day as part of the work 90 day challenge. I set my goal and I have affirmations that are directly related to my goal, and every single day I say affirmations and I journal and those are my two mindset things that I've chosen to do in the work, and I've started thinking about how many things do I say to myself that would be negative If I get up in the morning and I look in the mirror very first thing, by the way, is when your subconscious mind is firing and your conscious mind is sort of still asleep.

Speaker 1:

That's when you're most programmable, right before you go to bed and right when you wake up in the morning. So imagine the damage that I do to myself if I get up in the morning, flick on the light in my en suite, look in my mirror and say, oh my God, look at those wrinkles. Look at those bags under my eyes. Why is my face so puffy. Look at those wrinkles, look at those bags under my eyes. Why is my face so puffy? When we say that shit to ourselves, that is like programming our subconscious mind. It's an affirmation to the negative. And I wonder how many times do you think you say negative shit to yourself? I will guarantee, if you start paying attention, it'll be way more than you ever dreamed.

Speaker 1:

I think I'm a pretty positive person. I mean, I'm always doing mindset work and I can tell you that when I started to pay attention to all the negative shit that was going on in my mind, it was shocking. It was shocking. And if I'm saying negative stuff about myself I have a weight loss goal I can't look in the mirror and say, oh my God, look at the wrinkles. I feel like shit. I look like shit. This isn't working. Why is my face so puffy?

Speaker 1:

If I do that to myself, I'm telling myself negative things and then I have to intentionally reprogram saying affirmations all the time.

Speaker 1:

Right, I'm like having to counteract them.

Speaker 1:

If all you do, if you don't believe in affirmations because, let me tell you, I didn't believe in them either, but I swear they're changing my life but if you don't believe in affirmations, the very bare minimum. What I want you to do is pay attention to your self-talk, pay attention to how many shitty things you say to yourself, and as soon as you start to go down that rabbit hole, I want you to say delete, delete, delete or stop, and then turn around and say something that you love about yourself. Your life will change if this is the only thing that you do, because when you change your thoughts, you change your life. Thank you so much for listening. I hope you've had some laughs, maybe some ideas, and that you've been inspired to take some type of action toward the life you've always dreamed of. If you feel so called, I would love it if you would share with your besties and leave a review down below. I look forward to bringing you along on this journey and I will see you in the next episode.
