Speaker 1:

I'm so glad that you're here. You are listening to what the fuck did she just say with your host? That's me, sandra Priestly. I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in. I say random, crazy shit, which is why I called this podcast the way that I did, and I really hate long drawn out intros, so let's fucking go.

Speaker 1:

I recently had a coffee chat with a woman who was very successful in her corporate career, but she wanted to have her own business. She wanted to be able to do her own thing, and I always say that working for someone else is like working inside of a box, but they have the lid, you know, and working for yourself, the only lid is one that you place on yourself. Like there is no limits when you have your own business unless they are placed on you by you. So in order to set herself up for this business and it's it's a coaching business of some type so in order to set herself up for this business, she paid $3,000 for a business startup course. She learned how to create a website. She learned how to create landing pages, offer pages, funnels, launch strategy. She learned about courses. She learned about coaching. She learned about coupons, gift strategy. She learned about mission and vision and core values, which PS those last three things I really believe into. I think online businesses don't focus enough on mission, vision and core values. That's just my own side note, but when I do brand filter strategy sessions, we absolutely talk about why you're there, what your vision is for the future, what really fucking matters to you, because that shit does matter. So she paid $3,000 for this course and two things happened. Number one it took her six months to complete this course. She did not sell a thing in that time. She was busy completing this course and learning all that she needed to in order to start her business. Second thing at the end of the six months, she had a clarity call with me and what she ended up doing was creating something that was completely unique, that felt amazing to her, that was so perfect, easy and aligned, and she didn't need anything that she had just signed up for for the last six months Good knowledge, but didn't help her. She didn't actually need to start her website.

Speaker 1:

You start working with your first client or you start working with your first five clients and inevitably you kind of notice some patterns that all of these clients need. What's interesting is that it's from working with these clients that you start to fine-tune what you're offering. It's from starting just starting. Then you get to understand what it is that you need and how you want to shape your business and what you need for you and what your clients need from you. We spend a lot of time and a lot of money distracting ourselves from just fucking starting. I'm telling you just start, start and then shift when you need to, when you feel the need to.

Speaker 1:

It is so imperative that you start a business. You create a business that fits like a glove, that speaks to your strengths, that leans on your strengths and not on your weaknesses. Because if you create something that feels like it's a bit frustrating, that feels like it's not you, that it's too technical or it's not technical enough or it doesn't fit like you, it will be fucking impossible to sell it. It will feel like you are pushing water up a hill and the effort isn't yielding the reward. But if you create, you design, you curate your business to be everything that you're strongest in, all of a sudden it's like one door opens you walk through. Another door opens you walk through. Action creates the clarity and action creates another door.

Speaker 1:

Don't get bogged down taking a bunch of technical courses before you really start to think what is it that you want to do? What is your dream business like? What are you? What are you strongest at? What do people need from you? When you can create that, that's when magic occurs. If you need help with this, I've got brand filter strategy sessions and I didn't actually come on here to tell you about that, but it's blown out of my mouth twice now. So I guess that's where I'm being led. You got to just show up in your strength, in your power, and when you do, magic happens. Okay, see you tomorrow. Thank you so much for listening. I hope you've had some laughs, maybe some ideas, and that you've been inspired to take some type of action toward the life you've always dreamed of. If you feel so called, I would love it if you would share with your besties and leave a review down below. I look forward to bringing you along on this journey and I will see you in the next episode.
