Speaker 1:

I'm so glad that you're here. You are listening to what the fuck did she just say with your host? That's me, sandra Priestly. I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in. I say random, crazy shit, which is why I called this podcast the way that I did, and I really hate long drawn out intros, so let's fucking go.

Speaker 1:

Well, yesterday was the second Friday of January, which happens to be National Quitters Day. It was also January the 10th, which means it was National Bittersweet Chocolate Day and National Oysters Rockefeller Day. I was sort of hoping that it was going to be National Ketchup Day, but, as it turns out, it wasn't. Anyway, I started thinking about the number of people. Like they say, there's anywhere from 50 to 80% 50 to 80% of people that quit on themselves on their new year's resolution by January the 10th. If we are one of those people that makes a new year's resolution and then either doesn't start for whatever reason, or makes a new year's resolution, starts and then quits shortly thereafter, or makes a new year's resolution, is still hanging on by January 10th but is hating the process 10th but is hating the process. I want you to know that it is not your fault.

Speaker 1:

So often when we fail at something and I know this just as well as everyone else when we set a goal and then we fail at something, we become a failure. Right? We believe in our minds that we are the failure. Here's the thing you are not a failure. Your plan has failed you. We choose a goal. We decide that we're going to stop drinking. We are going to post four times a day on our social media. We're going to go to the gym five times a week. We're going to start on that diet. We're going to drink more water. We set the goal for ourselves, we set the resolution, but it's only on action. The problem with that plan is we haven't addressed the thoughts that we have that led us to needing the thing in the first place. So if we have created a goal but part of the plan doesn't include thoughts and energy and action and behaviors to go along with the action, we're setting ourselves up for failure. It is not us, it's go back to the goal that you want to achieve. Then choose to do at least one thing every single day that will address the mindset, reprogramming your subconscious mind, reprogramming that mindset piece so you can change the thoughts that you have about your goal, or change the thoughts that you have about yourself in achieving the goal. And then look at the energy piece. Look at the energy and emotion. What is the energy that is running through your body? How can you shift that? When you combine those two things, then the action becomes so much easier to continue with.

Speaker 1:

I think back to Beachbody challenge groups, and you know I got to tell you I'm so disappointed that there's no coaching involved. Again, the challengers gained knowledge in those groups. There was support, it was fun, it shifted our mindset, it shifted our energy and we took action. We wanted to take action. That's why more people than not finished the challenges.

Speaker 1:

In the work 90-day challenge that I'm running right now, all of us are showing up all the time mindset, energy and action. And the thing that's great about it is that, no matter what, even if we aren't able to finish any of the action pieces in a day, we are doing the mindset piece and the energy piece. And you know what? We still feel as though we're moving towards our goal If you can work on your mindset every single day, whether you show up at the gym or not. Today, you still have worked on exercising that mental muscle so that you can get your ass to the gym the next day.

Speaker 1:

It is not you that has failed. It is the plan that has failed you. So today, on January, the 11th shift, your plan include mindset and energy work, in addition to the action that you need to take to in order to achieve the goal. Reset, restart, let's fucking go. Thank you so much for listening. I hope you've had some laughs, maybe some ideas, and that you've been inspired to take some type of action toward the life you've always dreamed of. If you feel so called, I would love it if you would share with your besties. Leave a review down below. I look forward to bringing you along on this journey and I will see you in the next episode.
