WTF did she just say?
Oh my goshhhhhhhhhh welcome to my podcast!!! I'm so excited that you're here and I am honoured that you choose to place ME in your AirPods every week!!!
Here's a bit about me:
My name is Sandra. I'm a business coach for women, a feng shui practitioner and a 2x national leadership award winner. In saying all of that though, I feel like I'm just a girl from Saskatchewan, who is put on this earth to inspire you to step into your power ... right fuckin' now.
I think that all too often, we convince ourselves that there is nothing we can do ... that our life "is what it is" and that ONE DAY we might be able to have the life that we dreamed of.
Uhmmmm NO.
That's bullshit.
Sorry ... but it's true. In a split second, you can choose differently. In THIS moment, you can take that courageous step toward the life you desire. It's my job, my gift and my obsession to help you share your sparkle with the world and I'm excited to get started.
You got this. Let's go.

I'm so glad that you're here. You are listening to. What the fuck did she just say with your host? That's me, sandra Priestly. I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in. I say random, crazy shit, which is why I called this podcast the way that I did, and I really hate long drawn out intros, so let's fucking go.
Speaker 1:I had a really good conversation with a client today, and we were talking about goal setting and the goal that she wants to achieve in the next 90 days by doing the work actually probably in the next 2025. So one of her, one of the goals that she wants to achieve, is happiness. She wants to, just overall, be happier in 2025 and really focus on doing things every single day that brings her happiness, and I think that that's an amazing goal. Here is how I asked her to adjust it, though. One of the things about a general goal like that is that it's really too intangible to determine whether you're moving towards it or not. I mean, we can see that the daily work is let's do something every single day that brings us joy makes total sense, but how do we assess whether we're happy or not? How do we assess whether we have achieved happiness? How is that tangible so that we know whether we're working towards it or not? If we don't have a tangible goal, it's really easy to slip backwards into not doing the work. But if we have a tangible goal and a plan to achieve it, and when we have a goal that has a strategy or a plan or a journey that involves mindset and energy as well as action, there is no chance that if we follow those steps to whatever goal it is, that we won't intentionally create more happiness.
Speaker 1:I'll give you an example. I have two goals that I've set for myself for 2025. One is a business goal and one is a weight loss goal or health goal. And what is a weight loss goal or health goal? I could say to myself that I want improved health and I'm going to do something to improve my health every single day. Perfect, I can even have the strategies in place to improve my health every day, but that's not enough drive. It's too intangible for me to hit it. It's too like how am I going to improve my health every day? But that's not enough drive. It's too intangible for me to hit it. It's too like how am I going to improve my health every day? How am I going to know how close I am to improving my health every day?
Speaker 1:There has to be some measurable thing that we can include. Anyone that talks about goal setting usually we talk about smart goals, right? Is it specific? Is it measurable? Is it attainable? Is it specific? Is it measurable, is it attainable, is it realistic? And is it time sensitive? All of those things seem like wah wah, wah, wah wah, like they're really awful boring. No one wants to do them, but there's a reason for them. If it's not specific enough and if it is not measurable, those two things right there, it's too intangible for us to actually want to drive forward towards it.
Speaker 1:So when I'm looking at, yes, I want to improve my health, what is one of the things that I want to do to improve my health? I want to drop weight. Now, a lot of that is going to be inflammation, weight, but I'm still I feel so much better when I am less than what I weigh right now. So I'm choosing a number that's specific. Is weight loss Measurable? Is the number Achievable? Is it achievable? Sure, would I choose, because the number that I chose I've done before, I lost within three months. Before it was dedication, it was mindset and action every single day. So I know that I can do it. Yes, it's achievable. Is it realistic Totally, and is it time sensitive? Yes, because I'm going to do it in the first 90 days of this practice and whether I hit it or not it's not really the issue.
Speaker 1:The issue is that I need a North star and that I need tasks that I'm going to do every single day. Every single day, I'm doing mindset work, which means it's going to look like journaling and affirmations. I'm also doing energy work. I'm doing something to move my body every single day, to move the energy through. I'm also doing meditation so that I'm clearing out my energy every single day, and I'm making sure that my environment is clear as well. I'm going to make sure that it's decluttered. I'm going to make sure that my bed is done every single day. I'm going to make sure that I clean my kitchen every single night before I go to bed. These things just will make me feel better, will keep my energy more clear.
Speaker 1:And then my specific actions that I take mindset, energy and action. The specific actions that I take towards my weight loss goal are following the nutrition plan that I know works for me drinking two to three liters of water, those things alone, oh, and then moving my body every day. That's kind of energy and action. But moving my body every day, whether it be walking, whether it be a workout, it doesn't really matter what it is, but I'm going to be doing some sort of action every single day that is moving my body along. There is no way that I can complete all three of these areas towards my weight loss goal and not improve my health, which is immeasurable. There is no way that I can do all of these things and not improve my happiness. Do you see where I'm going with this? Every single intangible thing that you want to create, it comes from doing the work. So it doesn't really matter what goal you choose, because when you're working on mindset, energy and action, you will naturally feel better, you will naturally be happier, you will naturally be more successful, you will naturally feel healthier.
Speaker 1:When you do the work, everything shifts. So today, because it's New Year's Eve, take a look at what is it, what specific things? Could you? I mean, look at what general things you want to achieve in your life and then look at one specific goal that you want to work towards. Make sure it has some mindset component to it, make sure it has an energetic component to it and make sure that it has steps that you can take action on towards achieving the dang thing. You cannot miss any of them.
Speaker 1:You can't just say I'm only going to do mindset, I'm only going to focus on my mindset and like just hope and pray that all of the chocolate and chips and dip and everything else it's just going to be fine. I'm still going to lose weight because I'm doing all the mindset work and you can't just do all the energetic work. You can't just do the feng shui and make sure that you feel good in your body but then your mindset is fucked up and you're not taking actions and you can't just focus on the actions. Believe me when I say I can do all of the work in my business. I can do all of the work in my business. I can do all of the work in my weight loss journey and if my mindset is fucked up, if my thoughts are not congruent to success, I won't hit success. We have to work on all of it. You cannot do the work and show up energetically, feeling like a sloth. You cannot do the work and show up with the mindset of this isn't going to work. Anyway, I feel awful about myself. This isn't going to work. It doesn't work. All three of them have to be together.
Speaker 1:So, whether you join the work with us on January 1st or not, if you're that chick that just internally loves resolutions and you've got a resolution or you've got a goal that you want to achieve in 2025, let's fucking go. This is what you need to do. Make it specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time sensitive. Set out a plan. Some things you're going to do towards it are mindset wise, some things are energetic and some things are action. Get all three of them. Do all three of them every single day.
Speaker 1:Let go of the goal being success. Make the journey success and then you will achieve it, and I promise you you show up every single day. You will achieve it even faster than you dreamed possible. Let's fucking go and happy new year. Thank you so much for listening. I hope you've had some laughs, maybe some ideas, and that you've been inspired to take some type of action toward the life you've always dreamed of. If you feel so called, I would love it if you would share with your besties and leave a review down below. I look forward to bringing you along on this journey and I will see you in the next episode.
