WTF did she just say?
Oh my goshhhhhhhhhh welcome to my podcast!!! I'm so excited that you're here and I am honoured that you choose to place ME in your AirPods every week!!!
Here's a bit about me:
My name is Sandra. I'm a business coach for women, a feng shui practitioner and a 2x national leadership award winner. In saying all of that though, I feel like I'm just a girl from Saskatchewan, who is put on this earth to inspire you to step into your power ... right fuckin' now.
I think that all too often, we convince ourselves that there is nothing we can do ... that our life "is what it is" and that ONE DAY we might be able to have the life that we dreamed of.
Uhmmmm NO.
That's bullshit.
Sorry ... but it's true. In a split second, you can choose differently. In THIS moment, you can take that courageous step toward the life you desire. It's my job, my gift and my obsession to help you share your sparkle with the world and I'm excited to get started.
You got this. Let's go.

I'm so glad that you're here. You are listening to what the fuck did she just say with your host? That's me, sandra Priestly. I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in. I say random, crazy shit, which is why I called this podcast the way that I did, and I really hate long drawn out intros, so let's fucking go.
Speaker 1:When I first started with Teen Beach Body, I started as a challenger and I started watching transformation pictures. It was transformation Tuesday. I freaking loved when Tuesdays came around, because I started seeing them pop up all over the place. In 2012 transformation Tuesday pictures, and it was before and after picture. This is the before and this is what looks the person looks like six weeks later, and every single time I looked at those pictures, I thought, oh my gosh, okay, if that's what that woman looked like six weeks later, she looks like this. Today is January 1st. By the middle of February, I could look like that too, and I started to really really pay attention to the transformation, the dream, the belief of what I could achieve in six weeks time.
Speaker 1:I finally reached out to a coach who, freakishly, just lived a block and a half away from me, I don't even know. I mean, she probably did an ad to all people in my city, I don't know, but I ended up following her, signing up with her. I thought at the time that she asked me how often, like, how much do you think you could commit to workouts? And I said I could probably commit to 20 minutes three times a week. And she said, okay, well, what about 25 minutes five times a week? And I I doubted myself at the time. I really really did. But I remembered seeing the pictures the before and after pictures of the people that were six weeks, and I I just had to jump in. I just decided, okay, I'm going to do this, I'm going to do whatever it takes, whatever she says, I'm just going to follow her because I want the transformation. So I ordered T25 with Shanti I wasn't sure, but I was going to do it and I ordered the shake it's called Shakeology and so I got all excited. The box came and it said something like it's time and I was just thrilled, beyond thrilled. I was excited about this new challenge. I love newness, I love new things and I opened up the box and I started taking the shakes and by day three I had a migraine. For three days in a row, I felt sick to my stomach. I didn't feel good all day long and my husband said I think maybe you should stop the shakes. And I said no, I can't, I'm fat. This is what I said at the time, and I wasn't, but this is what I said at the time no, I can't, I'm fat, I have to take them. I just had such belief that this was going to work.
Speaker 1:I showed up every single day and I was really uncomfortable posting online. I at that time I was really nervous. I was in a private Facebook group but I didn't really know how it worked. I didn't know what to post. There was no way I was going to post a sweaty selfie. Are you fucking kidding me? I showed up every single day. I read every single post that she posted. I read all of the posts that the other women posted and I just kind of stayed quiet for the first little bit.
Speaker 1:And but I started to notice that it was okay to be vulnerable. It was okay to post what I thought. It was okay to post sweaty selfies because there was one girl in the group it wasn't even the coach. It was one girl in the group that I found her so damn motivating. Her name was Shanna and she had lost a hundred pounds and she was like, relentlessly showed up every single day, relentlessly showed up, and I thought I just got to do what she does and I just followed what she did.
Speaker 1:I just showed up every single day and I would step on the scale every day. And the problem was, I mean, today I step on the scale every day, but I just use it as information, right, what did I eat yesterday and what? How much inflammation am I holding on today? Because you know what, if you gain three pounds in a day, it's not you've have not gained three pounds of fat or muscle, by the way, it's just inflammation. So I just use it now as information. But at the time, holy fuck, stepping on the scale was a huge, huge mindfuck. Because if I saw results, if the scale went down, I feel great. If the scale went up or didn't go down, just stay the same I felt like a failure.
Speaker 1:I'd go on every single day and I'd say I'm up on the scale, what's happening? And Shanna would say to me get off the fucking scale. You're doing great. Don't focus on the results. Focus on the success being you showing up every day, you having your shake every day because it was good for nutrition, you working your ass off every single day in the workout, you eating the nutrition plan, like, make that be your success. And I'd say, okay, shanna. And then the next day I'd show up and I'd say, and then the next day I'd show up and I'd say, fuck, I stepped on the scale again. And it was so wild to me because at the end of the six weeks, like throughout, I'd take my sweaty selfies and Shanna would say I can see change in your face. And I'm like, nope, the scale's the same, shanna. And she would say I told you to get off the fucking scale. Like, yeah, I know, but I, but I do every day. And I would go on every day and I would admit that I fucked up and I went on the scale.
Speaker 1:What was interesting is about by week five, I started having people notice that I was losing weight and I would say, but I'm not losing weight, I've only lost three pounds. But my winter coat was all of a sudden fitting differently. I felt great and my face did look thinner, but there was no. It didn't make sense to me because the scale had only dropped three pounds. By the time the six weeks was over, I had lost six pounds and two full sizes. I'd lost fat and I gained muscle. I got leaner and I felt incredible.
Speaker 1:What I learned from that, and what I still take into my coaching now, is that when you focus on the daily tasks and you don't waver, no matter what the outcome says, if you just focus on the daily set tasks and those daily tasks become success, success is inevitable. But when you're constantly focusing on the goal and whether you've hit it or not and whether you're seeing any success, long-term success if all you're focused on is your goal and how far you are from it or how you're not achieving it, you will never fucking continue on. You will feel failure and you will stop and you will make the failure be because you are a failure. The way to hit success is to focus on your daily actions every fucking day. Did you do it, yes or no? Being vulnerable with yourself, being open with yourself and honest with yourself. Do you know how many women were in those challenge group? That said, I just need to listen to my body. I think I just need a break for a week. Bullshit, that was their own excuse and they knew it too. When we are honest with ourselves, when we decide this is what I'm going to do, this is my goal and these are the steps that I'm going to do every single day in order to achieve them, then forget about the fucking goal. Just focus every single day. What are my tasks? Am I doing them, yes or no? What are my tasks? Am I doing them, yes or no?
Speaker 1:Make it a game. I've got a client that she succeeds in everything she does when she gamifies it. We gamify it. She increased her social media by 10,000 people on Facebook pages with very few ads like very little money ever paid into ads and she did it because she made it a game. It's a game to post four times a day. She had structured to her plan and she posted four times a day. She made it a game to post four times a day and then all of a sudden, it was like, oh okay, well, this game sort of sucks now because I can easily post four times a day. Now, what do I do, sandra? Okay, now we're going to go for. How many likes, loves, impressions can we get on those posts. And then it became how many shares, how many comments, how many shares, how many sales, like we just started to build up like that. But if we had focused on the goal is a hundred thousand followers, or if we had focused on the goal is $10,000 in sales a month, do you see how she would be just feeling like a fucking failure? I'm posting four times a day. I'm getting sales every day, but I'm nowhere near 10,000 a month. Oh, I suck shit.
Speaker 1:Choose the goal so that you know where your North star is, but then let that go and be focused on the daily actions that you need to do in order to get to the goal. But completing the daily actions is the success. When you do that, every fucking thing changes. Get into the work. We're focusing on the daily actions, the daily things we need to do in three separate areas mindset, energy and action. When you can feel success because you've done the work every day, everything changes. Every day, everything changes. Thank you so much for listening. I hope you've had some laughs, maybe some ideas, and that you've been inspired to take some type of action toward the life you've always dreamed of. If you feel so called, I would love it if you would share with your besties and leave a review down below. I look forward to bringing you along on this journey and I will see you in the next episode.
