WTF did she just say?
Oh my goshhhhhhhhhh welcome to my podcast!!! I'm so excited that you're here and I am honoured that you choose to place ME in your AirPods every week!!!
Here's a bit about me:
My name is Sandra. I'm a business coach for women, a feng shui practitioner and a 2x national leadership award winner. In saying all of that though, I feel like I'm just a girl from Saskatchewan, who is put on this earth to inspire you to step into your power ... right fuckin' now.
I think that all too often, we convince ourselves that there is nothing we can do ... that our life "is what it is" and that ONE DAY we might be able to have the life that we dreamed of.
Uhmmmm NO.
That's bullshit.
Sorry ... but it's true. In a split second, you can choose differently. In THIS moment, you can take that courageous step toward the life you desire. It's my job, my gift and my obsession to help you share your sparkle with the world and I'm excited to get started.
You got this. Let's go.
Sandra

Working your ass off and NOT hitting your goals? This one's for you
Setting and achieving goals for the new year requires more than just intentions; it takes consistent action and working it till it works.
Most of us half-ass it or THINK a lot about it and then getting frustrated when our goals are elusive. In this episode I talk about:
• Resolutions vs. words of the year
• Identifying two problems I see in achieving goals
• Insights from Mel Robbins on doing LESS
• Importance of being all in versus half-assing your efforts
• My success (and lack thereof) with a diet, and what I learned in the process
• The necessity of daily commitment for genuine progress
THE WORK ... is what will get you there.

I'm so glad that you're here. You are listening to what the fuck did she just say with your host. That's me, sandra Priestly. I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in. I say random, crazy shit, which is why I called this podcast the way that I did, and I really hate long drawn out intros. So let's fucking go. Welcome back to another episode of what the fuck did she just say.
Speaker 1:Today is December 27th and I don't know about you, but as soon as Christmas is over, boxing day is over. By the time the 27th comes around, I'm starting to think about January 1st. What am I going to do on January 1st? And I am the person that will like take on a new diet on the 26th of December or the 13th, like a random Thursday. But there's something magical about January 1st. I just love it.
Speaker 1:I've always done New Year's resolutions on December 31st. Even when it wasn't cool, I tried. For a few years I'd been convinced that New Year's resolutions were stupid because most people didn't hit them. So I tried the word of the year, but you know what, unless I tattooed that word of the year right on my cheek. I'm never going to fucking remember what it is. So I've given up on word of the year. I mean, I still do New Year's resolutions. I look more towards, though. What do I want to achieve? What are my goals? What do I want to achieve and how do I want to achieve them? Like what can I remain committed to in order to achieve my goal? And there's two main problems that I see for myself and my clients.
Speaker 1:For people who are working their frig, freaking asses off, it seems like they're busy all the time, but they're not hitting their goals. There's a couple of things that they're doing. Number one they're thinking more than they're not actually taking action. That feels busy. Let me tell you that feels busy. I can feel like I'm working in my business all day long and only be fucking thinking about it. Thinking action is not action. Also, you will never think your way out of a problem. You will never think your way to clarity. The only way to get clarity is to take action. Just trial and error, just getting your business, just start five minutes. You will never, ever, ever, use your brain to think your way out of a problem because your brain got you in it. You know what I mean. So either one, they're thinking and they're not taking action, but they feel like they're working their asses off. Or two, they're taking action, but they're taking action and doing too many things, too often too much. And so what happens is they feel really, really busy, but because they've taken on so many different things, they're half-assing every single thing and then wondering why they're not hitting any goals.
Speaker 1:Mel Robbins just did a podcast. I have to listen to the whole thing, but she just did a podcast and she said that usually around this time we're thinking about taking more on doing more things, and instead she's realized that she needs to do less and just choose the things that really really matter to her but then go all in on them whole ass. Go all in on them and be relentless towards those things. And I think that that is one of the things that too often we do not do. We half-ass everything and then wonder why nothing is working Really. This is the work, right. It's choosing a goal, choosing a plan on hitting that goal and then staying committed to it and working it till it works. We don't fucking work it till it works. We're only half-assing it and wondering why it doesn't work.
Speaker 1:Last year my naturopathic doctor had me trying this. I asked her for a nutrition plan. I asked her for a diet plan. So she gave me this particular diet plan and she said it really isn't that hard, it's easy to follow, but you've got to work until it works. It's got to be perfect, you've got to follow it and you had to weigh your food and it was specific food groups. It was no snacking, it was three meals and actually when I started I always love these challenges and I began this diet and I started to see success way faster than I ever had with any other diet. Like it was wild to me how quickly I could see a shift and within three months I'd lost 20 pounds.
Speaker 1:Now here's where it got dicey. After the three months I started feeling great about myself and I just like I felt so much healthier. I had way less inflammation, I just felt so good and I started to slip and I started to have acid and then I started to slowly gain more inflammation, feel a little bit more stressed and just in general I think my gut health took a siesta and things kind of went south from there and then I tried to get back on this diet, but I was half-assing it, I wasn't measuring, I was having snacks every once in a while, I wasn't eating exactly like I should be, and this particular diet is on macros and so I needed to be eating the way the diet is designed, and I wasn't. I'd skip a fruit at lunch, or I would not have the big, huge lettuce salad at supper, and guess what? It didn't work.
Speaker 1:We don't have to be perfect, but we've got to not half-ass things the majority of the days in order to see success. No matter if that's in manifestation, if it's in our finances, if it's in our business, if it's in marketing, if it's in a diet plan, if it's in our workout plan, it doesn't really matter. We have to be as consistent as we can and committed to the goal, or otherwise we're not going to hit it. So this is the work. It is the work and that's why I'm doing this program starting January 1st. It's the work and I'm so excited about it because I'm actually choosing two goals that are really, really matter to me. One is my health and the other is my business. When we commit to the work and we go all in on those goals, there's no way we cannot succeed. It's every single day taking action towards our goals. It is impossible not to hit our goal when that's what we're so focused and committed on and committed on.
Speaker 1:So if you can do this for yourself, I urge you to January 1st or December 28th, focus every single day on the goal and the plan and make the journey and the success of the journey be your everyday success.
Speaker 1:Don't worry, keep your eye focused on the goal, but don't worry about how close or how far you are from it, because all of a sudden it just clicks one day and everything and all of the hard work starts to pay off. And if you want to join us, the link is in the show notes below. It's going to be so much fun. I'm so excited and I'm going to be doing the work with you. So I hope you have an amazing day and we'll see you back here on the pod tomorrow. Thank you so much for listening. I hope you've had some laughs, maybe some ideas, and that you've been inspired to take some type of action toward the life you've always dreamed of. If you feel so called, I would love it if you would share with your besties and leave a review down below. I look forward to bringing you along on this journey and I will see you in the next episode.
